Sergio Espejo Yaksic

Public policy and law have always been a central part of my vocation. I have had the opportunity to develop in both worlds as a public authority, university professor and lawyer. From that experience I provide our clients with a strategic vision in the solution of their needs and the skills in conflict resolution acquired in the exercise of my professional activity.
Sergio has been Superintendent of Electricity and Fuels, President of the Preventive Commission and member of the Antitrust Commission (predecessor bodies to the Court for the Defense of Free Competition), President of the Civil Aeronautics Board, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, and member of the House of Representatives.
He was a partner of Espejo & González Abogados Asociados, and is currently partner at Aylwin y Compañía. He is a member of the Arbitration Body of the Santiago Court of Appeals. He has been an international consultant in strategic and regulatory matters, a role in which he is currently an advisor to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Dominican Republic, in addition to be a member of the Board of Directors of Inmobiliaria Las Lilas. He is also director (pro bono) of COANIL.
Education and Academic Activity
Bachelor of Social Sciences in Law (J.D.), Universidad de Chile Law School. Master of Arts in Public Policy, John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
He is Dean of the Universidad SEK Law and Social Sciences School and member of the Academic Advisory Council of the Law and Environment Program of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Law School. He has taught the course on political economy of regulation and public policies in various programs at Universidad de Chile, Universidad Diego Portales and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
